It used to be that watching video on the internet was a complex and time consuming process. You really had to want to watch that video coupled with actually finding the video. Just recently, developments in high speed internet, Wi-Fi, drastically improved software and super-sized memory have made internet video a phenomenon of unprecedented impact. Search engines make a variety of material available that no video store could ever have stocked, and it grows daily. What better way to market your product or service than by internet video?

Film video production is a process in which a video is made specifically and professionally to focus on a message. The combination of seeing how something works, hearing a narration or explanation and being able to play it back or send it by link or e-mail to other decision makers or correspondents has enabled marketers to communicate their products more efficiently and quickly than ever.

Flat graphics and expensive brochures have given way to being able to see how something performs in real life environments. By using attention-getting techniques, animation, computer modelling and 3-D design, impressions can be made that move a buyer towards a positive decision. The video can be translated into any language and re-edited to direct it to a variety of audiences. There are literally no limits to the possibilities.

One of the most important advancements in today’s technology is automation as it entails a lot of benefits which can increase not only the productivity of one firm but also reduces the cost of unit production. Here are some of the key benefits of integrating automation in business production.

The number one benefit of automation in production is the elimination of human intervention when it comes to performing repetitive and often strenuous tasks during the production process. This is the main purpose of automation – to help people ease their tasks and obtain efficiency.

The cost of unit production may also be reduced if automation is integrated. This is due to the reason that since there is no need for human workforce, the company will not have to hire and pay for employees thus bringing savings to the company.

The company will be able to receive return of investment fast so there is no need to worry about the cost of investing into automation machineries.

Quality end product is ensured with automated system because there is a uniform process and the likelihood of encountering deviations in the entire production is minimized. Human errors are eradicated as a result of automation in production.

Music has enough power to deliver a strong and hearty message. The professionals in both the music industry and ad agency realized the power of music and start using the popular compositions as an effective marketing tool to promote a brand. But it requires taking a written permission from the composers prior to using the music in any campaign; otherwise such act will be treated as an illegal activity due to music licensing. But to locate a source of the original compositions for production use and release was not an easy task. That is why the production music library came into being to facilitate the searching for the unforgettable music.

Every composer should license music in order to safeguard his/her creation. Copyrighting the music is a must so that others can not claim it as their original opus. If the music is licensed, the musicians earn a figure every time the track is used for the commercial purpose, otherwise the person may be cheated of both fame and fund. Music licensing is imperative in modern-age, when almost all the commercials are using the hit melodies as an excellent trick to boost up the sales figure.

The writers’ strike of ’88 hit Hollywood not long after my literary management business had really begun to take off. Finally, I’d built what looked like a successful business. At that moment, the Writers Guild of America made a decision that would shut down all production, in fact the entire business of film and television. The talk on the street was the strike wasn’t going to end any time soon, and all our businesses were quickly shutting down. The strike lasted approximately ten months, which seemed an eternity.

As soon as the strike hit, I approached one of my screenwriting clients (J.F. Lawton, who wrote “Pretty Woman” among other amazing scripts) and told him it was time for him to direct his first ‘low budget’ indie film. I asked him to pick a script from his ‘stack’ at home, one that could be produced cheaper than cheap, and off I went to raise money.

Empire Pictures – a B minus minus company that went out of business several years later – offered $200,000 to finance our project “Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death”. I grabbed at the opportunity.

With that money in hand, J.F. directed and I produced our first ultra-low budget film with Bill Maher, Shannon Tweed (the only film where the producer – me – insisted she keep all her clothes on !), and Adrienne Barbeau. Two weeks of prep, eleven days of photography, and a couple of weeks of post-production and… voila ! We had our first film. It was guerilla filmmaking meets the keystone cops, but we learned more from that little film than I could ever have imagined. And I got the bug for producing. Humble beginnings…
