Are You Planning To Build Or Rebuild Your Home For It To Suit Your Family’s Size And Lifestyle?

It’s necessary for us to have our house designs primarily based on the activities that our family is fond of doing. Before you start designing your house, we recommend that you ask yourself a range of lifestyle and living needs questions. Following this path actually helps you to choose the most significant characteristics you will need when designing your house.

Initially consider your cooking and entertaining style. Do you always eat in or out? Do you like to have guests over for dinner and other entertaining? Maybe a bigger kitchen and deck area may be the answer, and then going smaller on the bedrooms. Secondly, marital status factors ought to also be taken into consideration while designing your house. These factors will most likely have the greatest impact on your ideal house plan. If you are thinking of being in the same home for many decades keep an eye on flexibility of the spaces within a house.

Unless you are building a new home, incorporating green technology will often mean making significant changes to the infrastructure of your home. This is something which may seem intimidating to some people. It doesn’t have to be. Here are some suggestions that will make it easier for you to do so.

Choose systems requiring the least change
Picking systems and technologies that require the least amount of change or reconfiguration can make it much less painful for you to switch over to green technologies in your home. For example, changing from a traditional hot water tank system to a tankless version will usually not require as much change as it would if you were installing in-floor heating would be. Replacing a floor made with materials that are more friendly to the environment can be less disruptive than bringing in a number of green materials to use in your home’s construction. By minimizing the amount of disruption and change, you can make the transition a much less painful one.

Who wouldn’t like to live in a home that fits their dreams and lifestyle wants. But sometimes life hits you and you have a choice to make…

Budget and wisely buy something within your monthly means or over extend yourself to the point of stressing out your family.

The choice is yours but don’t think that just because you have to buy a smaller house, doesn’t mean that your dreams can’t become a reality…

Here is what most are doing now instead of buying a home:

They are building their own small homes and pocketing the retail profit that would have to gone to builders and middle men.

Here is how you start this:

Find simple house plans, either online or through your local home improvement store. Try to stick with simple designs, your creativity is what will make the home unique not the plan itself.

Whats going to make a difference is the cost of materials, the reduced cost of electric bills and heat. Imagine reducing all your in home bills 50%, awesome huh?

Another option you can peruse is doing the work for yourself and not hiring a contractor. Most people when doing this end up ahead and having equity they can borrow off the home if they have any unforeseen financial issues come up.

I’ve been lucky enough to be a “beta tester” for the co-working space at Urbane on Adams and I LOVE it so far. As a resident and workspace participant, I’ve been able to really savor the work at home lifestyle.

There are enormous benefits to working from home such as commute, solitude, and kitchen access! But there are a few things that complicate working where you live, such as distractions, scheduling, and well, the ease of laziness. Here’s where a routine comes in handy.

Set an alarm. Setting an alarm gives me a sense of normalcy. It isn’t a weekend or holiday–it’s another day at the office. Have a ritual. Perhaps it’s as simple as making coffee or closing a door, having a ready to work ritual can let your brain know it’s time to re-focus. I try to do things that don’t involve the computer. Some suggestions: A quick, low-impact work out routine – Hand-write the day’s task list – Walk the dog. Keep a dedicated workspace. Even in a small apartment, a dedicated workspace is a must-have. Throw a plant in there or a slip-and-slide. Make it your own. And I beseech you; keep the laptop out of the bedroom. It’s horrible for relaxation and will only hurt your relationship with your partner. Keep some ambient noise. Silence will breed boredom, even when you’re busy. Of course, keeping the TV on is probably not the best idea. I suggest ambient music or a small waterfall–it’s your office. Keep a schedule. Know when your working hours begins and end and commit to them. Let your roommate or family know. Eat at a restaurant occasionally. Don’t let the conveniences of home let you forget the value of lunch with a co-worker. Even if you don’t have co-workers, schedule lunch with a business colleague or someone still stuck in the traditional 9-5. Get out of those pj’s! Changing your clothes is like putting your game face on. You’ll be more productive, even if you’re still wearing slippers with those jeans. What are your favorite work at home tips and rituals?
